Circuit engineering is an extremely important step in the decoration process, and the selection of wires is also related to the safety of electricity use in the later stage. Below is a brief introduction to the commonly used specifications and model level selection precautions for home decoration wires, to help everyone better choose the appropriate home decoration wires.
1、 Home decoration wire specifications
Wire specifications are usually expressed in square, which refers to the cross-sectional area of copper wire. According to the different conductor structures, wires are divided into single conductor hard wires and multi stranded flexible wires. For multi stranded wires, the square of the wire is the sum of the cross-sectional areas of all copper wires.
There are three commonly used specifications for home decoration wires: 1.5 square meters, 2.5 square meters, and 4 square meters. In addition, there are 6 square meters and 10 square meters of wires, which are mainly used as main entry lines and are almost not used in home decoration construction.
1.5 square meters: mainly used for lighting fixtures and switch wires
2.5 square wire: mainly used for socket power supply and common electrical appliances
4-square wire: It is important for high-power appliances such as circuit main lines and air conditioners. Due to the large number of kitchen appliances and high electricity consumption, 4-square wire is sometimes chosen.
2、 Home decoration wire model
There are two types of single conductor hard wires: WDZ-BYJ and BV, and three types of multi stranded flexible wires: WDZ-BYJ, BVR, and RV.
WDZ-BYJ: Low smoke halogen-free cross-linked polyolefin wire (divided into hard wire and soft wire according to different conductor results)
BV: PVC wire, single core wire with only one copper wire, relatively hard
BVR: PVC wire, a single core wire with many strands of copper wire twisted together, relatively soft
RV: PVC wire, single core wire with more strands of copper wire twisted together, extremely soft
The letter B represents wiring wires, the letter V represents insulation material polyvinyl chloride, and the letter R represents softness.
Single conductor hard wire and multi stranded flexible wire are both single core wires. In addition, there is another type of multi-core wire, also known as sheathed wire, which was commonly used for indoor exposed wires in home decoration in the past. It can be directly buried in walls or fixed on walls, but it is now less commonly used. There are two types of sheathed wires, BVVB and RVV:
BVVB: Hard sheathed wire, where two or three BV wires are sheathed togethe
RVV: Soft sheathed wire, where two three or four RV wires are sheathed together
3、 Home decoration wire and cable selection
Check the packaging and labeling: whether the information on the certificate of conformity is complete, with "CCC" certification and quality system certification.
Check the manufacturing process: Cut a section of copper wire and see if its core is located in the center of the insulation layer.
Check the quality of the copper core: High quality copper core is purple red in color, glossy, and has a soft touch; Poor quality copper cores tend to be yellow, white, or black.
Check the size of the wire: Check whether the length of the wire and the cross-sectional area of the inner core are consistent with the markings to avoid situations such as missing weight or falsification.
