Overview and advantages of cross-linked cables

Hits:32 Pub:2025-05-03

Overview of cross-linked cables:
Cross linked cable usually refers to the insulation layer of the cable using cross-linked materials. The most commonly used material is cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE).

Cross linked cables have the following advantages:
1. Save money
Reduce costs, wire and cable manufacturers can directly use it, which is 1500~3000 yuan/ton cheaper than the chemical and radiation cross-linked polyethylene cable special material particles purchased from the market.

2. Time saving
The procurement of chemical and radiation cross-linked polyethylene cable special material particles by wire and cable manufacturers requires a time period of about one week for inquiry, ordering, production, and transportation. When using DH-125 functional mother particles, cable production can be directly carried out after 5 minutes of preparation after deciding on the production plan.

3. Universality
Wire and cable manufacturers can adjust the variety themselves, with a hardness of DH-125 functional mother particles. It can be added not only to ordinary polyethylene PE particles, but also to ordinary cable material particles that do not have cross-linking properties, turning ordinary plastic cable particles that originally did not have cross-linking properties into cross-linked plastic particles.

Cross linked cables are suitable for power transmission and distribution lines with AC voltage of 500KV and below. At present, the vast majority of high-voltage cables use cross-linked polyethylene insulation.
