The reason for the blackening of copper wires in wires and cables

Hits:34 Pub:2025-05-03
Nowadays, wires and cables are widely used, but there are often some problems encountered during use. The most common problem is that the copper wires of wires and cables will turn black. In fact, this is a very common imagination, not because cables cannot be used.

Reasons for blackening of copper wires in cables:

1. The area of the drawing emulsion oil pool is small, the reflux pipeline is short and sealed, resulting in slow heat dissipation and high temperature of the emulsion oil.

2. It is caused by copper wire annealing.

3. The cable is damp.

4. The unqualified insulation material of the cable causes copper wire oxidation.

5. Poor quality of copper (aluminum doping in cable copper core).

6. Copper wire is made of copper, and if it comes into contact with oxygen, it will turn into copper oxide, which is black in color.

Although the copper wire of wires and cables may turn black, it will not affect normal use, but it may not have the same luster in appearance and may not be aesthetically pleasing. Just wipe the joint area and you can continue to use it.
